Dear Humans and Extraterrestrials mooching off our free wi-fi,

Welcome to my corner of the cosmic web 🙂 As a new adventure begins I would like to give you a brief glimpse into my life and the purpose behind somadjinn.com. Canadian by birth, I moved to the United States at the age of two, returned to Canada for university, and came around full circle to settle back in the Washington DC area where I grew up.

In university I majored in economics and obtained my bachelor’s degree, then I felt compelled to pursue more creative ambitions by studying graphic design in 2005. From there I fell in love with photography as it gave me a precious chance to focus on the beauties of this world and create my own virtual treasure chest of images to work with. Most of which I am happy to share for free at web resolution to express my gratitude and return the favor for the generosity of other stock photographers providing invaluable resources without breaking the bank.

By that token, you are welcome to visit my sister website freestock.ca where I contribute thousands of free images. Even in the context of stock I always strive to offer high quality photos… ranging from simple objects isolated on white for practical commercial applications, to more abstract concepts flirting with fine arts and many categories in between. To me stock is no different in merit except for how it is permitted to be used and I am developing this website in part to paint a more complete self-portrait.

In the Portfolio section you will find some of my personal favorite photos, but more importantly I am also looking forward to opening a two-way street of communication with you through blogging. Just like my stock photos, I hope to share some useful insight related to my interests & experiences in the visual arts.
